The Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Pump Yojana (MSKPY) is a flagship scheme launched by the Government of Maharashtra to empower farmers by transitioning their irrigation systems to solar power. The primary goal is to provide off-grid solar agricultural pump sets at highly subsidized rates, particularly in remote and tribal areas lacking reliable grid electricity.
Key Eligibility Criteria
- The applicant must be a permanent resident of Maharashtra State.
- The farmer must possess their own agricultural land and have a verified source of water (well, borewell, canal, etc.).
- The farmer must not have an existing electric agricultural pump connection from MSEDCL (Mahavitaran).
- Priority is given to farmers currently using polluting diesel pump sets.
- Farmers in remote, tribal areas and those whose villages are awaiting electrification due to forest clearance issues are given preference.

💻 How to Apply Online
- Visit the official web portal of MSEDCL (Mahavitaran) for solar schemes (https://www.mahadiscom.in/solar).
- Fill out the online application (A-1 Form) and the declaration, uploading all necessary documents.
- The Field Office conducts a site survey within 10 days of receiving the application.
- If approved, a Demand Note is issued to the applicant.
- The farmer must pay their subsidized beneficiary share (5% or 10%) as mentioned in the Demand Note to proceed with installation.
