🇮🇳 Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) – Maharashtra

The Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) is a flagship welfare scheme launched by the Central Government of India in May 2016. Its primary goal is to provide Free LPG Gas Connections to women from Below Poverty Line (BPL) households.

Key Objectives of the Scheme

  • To provide clean cooking fuel (LPG) to rural and impoverished families.
  • To address the serious health hazards associated with using traditional cooking fuels like firewood, coal, or dung cakes, which particularly affect women and children.
  • To reduce air pollution caused by the use of unclean fossil fuels.
  • To empower women by ensuring a healthier and safer kitchen environment.

PMUY Benefits and Financial Assistance
