Required Documents (Keep these ready):
- Address Proof: Ration Card, Electricity Bill, Telephone Bill, Driving License, or Aadhaar Card.
- Birth Certificate: Official certificate from the Gram Panchayat, Municipal Council, or Mahanagarpalika.
- Income Certificate: For the Economically Weaker Section (EWS), an annual income certificate below ₹1 Lakh (issued by the Tehsildar) is mandatory.
- Caste Certificate: Required if applying under a specific reserved category.
- Aadhaar Card: Aadhaar cards of both the child and the parent.
Application Process:
- Registration: Visit the official Maharashtra RTE portal (student.maharashtra.gov.in) and create a “New Registration” to get your User ID and Password.
- Child’s Details: Fill in the child’s personal information and parent details accurately.
- Address & Mapping: Mark your home location accurately on the Google Map provided in the portal to see schools within a 1km to 3km radius.
- School Selection: Choose the preferred schools from the generated list.
- Submission: Review the form carefully and submit. Download and print the application for future reference.
Important Tips for Parents:
- Avoid Duplicates: Do not fill more than one application for the same child; otherwise, the application will be disqualified.
- Distance Rule: Priority is given to students living within 1 km of the school.
- Accuracy: Ensure the name on the Aadhaar card matches the Birth Certificate to avoid issues during the verification process.
