​To open a Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana account, you need to visit your nearest Post Office or any authorized Nationalized/Private Bank.

👉 Application Process

  1. Get the Form: Obtain the Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana Application Form from the Post Office or Bank. You can also download it from their respective websites.
  2. Fill Details: Carefully fill in the form with the girl child’s name, date of birth, guardian’s details (name, address, ID proof), and the initial deposit amount.
  3. Attach Documents: Attach the required documents listed below with the application form.
  4. Make Deposit: Submit the initial deposit, which must be a minimum of ₹ \text{250} or more.
  5. Collect Receipt: The bank or post office will verify your application and documents and open the account. You will be given a Passbook or a receipt confirming the account opening.

📜 Required Documents

​The following three main types of documents are essential for opening the account:

  1. Girl Child’s Birth Certificate:
    • ​Required to prove that the girl child is under \text{10} years of age.
  2. Guardian’s Photo and Identity Proof:
    • Examples: Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Passport, Voter ID Card.
  3. Guardian’s Address Proof:

  4. Others:
    • Medical Certificate is required for opening accounts for multiple children in case of twins or triplets.
