- Get the Form: Obtain the Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana Application Form from the Post Office or Bank. You can also download it from their respective websites.
- Fill Details: Carefully fill in the form with the girl child’s name, date of birth, guardian’s details (name, address, ID proof), and the initial deposit amount.
- Attach Documents: Attach the required documents listed below with the application form.
- Make Deposit: Submit the initial deposit, which must be a minimum of ₹ \text{250} or more.
- Collect Receipt: The bank or post office will verify your application and documents and open the account. You will be given a Passbook or a receipt confirming the account opening.
📜 Required Documents
The following three main types of documents are essential for opening the account:
- Girl Child’s Birth Certificate:
- Required to prove that the girl child is under \text{10} years of age.
- Guardian’s Photo and Identity Proof:
- Examples: Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Passport, Voter ID Card.
- Guardian’s Address Proof:
- Examples: Aadhaar Card (if it has the current address), Passport, Ration Card, Electricity/Telephone Bill.
- Others:
- Medical Certificate is required for opening accounts for multiple children in case of twins or triplets.
