Scheme Details: Application Process and Documents
The Namo Shetkari Maha Sanman Nidhi Yojana is an ambitious scheme by the Government of Maharashtra, modeled after the Central Government’s Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme. Under this scheme, eligible farmers receive an additional ₹6,000 annually (in three installments) from the State Government, on top of the ₹6,000 received under PM-KISAN, bringing the total annual assistance to ₹12,000.
Application Process (Arj Prakriya)
Currently, farmers who are already beneficiaries of the PM-KISAN scheme do not need to apply separately for the Namo Shetkari Yojana. The State Government uses the PM-KISAN database to identify eligible beneficiaries. However, farmers who are not registered under PM-KISAN or whose records have errors should follow these steps:
- PM-KISAN Registration: It is essential to be registered under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme first.
- Online: Register on the official PM-KISAN portal (pmkisan.gov.in) by clicking on the “New Farmer Registration” option.
- Offline: Registration can also be done through an Aaple Sarkar Seva Kendra, Common Service Center (CSC), or the Taluka Agriculture Officer’s office.
- Update Documents: Ensure your bank account is Aadhaar-seeded and that your e-KYC is completed. This is mandatory.
- Contact Talathi Office: Ensure your land records (7/12 and 8A extracts) are accurate and have your name registered as the landowner.
- State Government Updates: Keep checking the official agricultural department’s portal for any future official notifications or separate application procedures regarding the state-specific benefit.
Required Documents (Aavashyak Kagadpatre)
To benefit from the Namo Shetkari Yojana, an applicant primarily needs the documents required for the PM-KISAN scheme:
- Aadhaar Card
- Proof of Residence in Maharashtra
- Voter ID
- Farm Land Documents: 7/12 (Saatbara Extract) and 8A Extract (The land must be registered in the applicant’s name).
- Bank Account Details: The account must be active and linked (seeded) with the Aadhaar Card.
- Mobile Number: Linked to the Aadhaar Card.
