📝 Scheme Information and Process

​The E-Scholarship Scheme encompasses various Post-Matric and Pre-Matric scholarship schemes run by different government departments (e.g., Social Justice, Tribal Development, DTE, Medical Education, Agriculture) in Maharashtra. All these schemes are implemented online through a single portal: MahaDBT.

​1. Eligibility Criteria

​While specific criteria vary by the scheme and the student’s caste category, the general conditions are as follows:

Educational StatusThe student must be pursuing Post-Matric (after 10th), Higher, or Professional Education.
Caste CriteriaThe student must belong to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), VJNT/NT, Special Backward Class (SBC), or Economically Weaker Section (EWS).
Income LimitThe family’s annual income must be below a specific limit, which ranges from ₹1 Lakh to ₹8 Lakhs (or less), depending on the specific scheme and category (e.g., up to ₹2.5 Lakhs for SC/ST Post-Matric schemes, up to ₹8 Lakhs for EBC/Open category schemes).
AttendanceThe student must maintain at least 75% attendance at their college/institution.

2. Required Documents

​Key documents that need to be scanned and uploaded when filling out the online application:

  1. Aadhaar Card (Mandatory).
  2. Income Certificate of the family.
  3. Caste Certificate and Caste Validity Certificate.
  4. Domicile Certificate of Maharashtra.
  5. Mark Sheet of the previous year’s examination.
  6. ​Current Academic Year’s Fee Receipt and Bonafide Certificate.
  7. ​Copy of the first page of the Bank Passbook (Bank Account must be Aadhaar seeded for Direct Benefit Transfer – DBT).
  8. Self-Declaration Form.
  9. Non-Creamy Layer Certificate (Mandatory for OBC, VJNT, and SBC categories).

​3. Application Process

​The entire application process for the E-Scholarship Scheme is carried out through the MahaDBT portal:

Step 1: Portal Registration (For New Applicants)

  • ​Visit the official MahaDBT portal: https://mahadbtmahait.gov.in/.
  • ​Click on the ‘New Applicant Registration’ option.
  • ​Complete the registration using your Aadhaar Number and mobile number.

Step 2: Profile Creation

  • ​Log in using your Username and Password.
  • ​Accurately fill in the profile details, including personal information, address, educational history (starting from SSC/10th), and Bank details.

Step 3: Applying for Schemes

  • ​Once the profile is complete, go to the ‘Select Scheme’ section.
  • ​A list of eligible schemes, based on your educational qualifications and caste, will be displayed.
  • ​Select the scheme you are eligible for and click the ‘Apply’ button.

Step 4: Uploading Documents

  • ​Upload all the required scanned documents as per the specific scheme’s requirements.

Step 5: Final Submission

  • ​After reviewing all the information and documents, click on ‘Submit Application’.
  • ​Take a printout of the application and submit it to the college’s Nodal Officer for physical verification.

Step 6: Verification and Fund Disbursement (DBT)

  • ​The application will be verified by the college and the respective government department.
  • ​Once approved, the scholarship amount is transferred directly (DBT) into the student’s Aadhaar-linked bank account.
