Key Features and Financial Benefits

​The financial assistance is provided directly to the beneficiary’s bank account via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). The assistance varies based on whether the region is classified as a Low Performing State (LPS) or High Performing State (HPS).

Standard Assistance for Maharashtra/General States:

  • Rural Areas: ₹700 for institutional delivery in a government hospital.
  • Urban Areas: ₹600 for institutional delivery in a government hospital.
  • Home Delivery: ₹500 for BPL women (aged 19+), regardless of the area.
  • C-Section Support: Up to ₹1,500 is provided if surgery or specialized care is required.

3. Eligibility Criteria

​To avail of the benefits under JSY 2026, the following criteria must be met:

  • Category: The woman must belong to the BPL (Below Poverty Line), SC (Scheduled Caste), or ST (Scheduled Tribe) category.
  • Age: The mother must be at least 19 years of age.
  • Limitation: The benefit is generally restricted to the first two live births.
  • Location: Delivery must take place in a government hospital or an accredited private health facility.

4. Required Documents

​You will need the following documents to process the claim:

  • Aadhaar Card: Must be linked to a bank account.
  • Bank Passbook: A photocopy showing the account number and IFSC code.
  • RCH ID / MCP Card: Mother and Child Protection card issued during registration.
  • BPL Ration Card: Or a valid income certificate.
  • Address Proof: Voter ID, Electricity Bill, or any government ID.

5. How to Apply

  1. Registration: Register with your local ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activist) worker or at the nearest Primary Health Centre (PHC) as soon as pregnancy is confirmed.
  2. JSY Card: You will be issued a Janani Suraksha Card (MCP Card) which tracks your antenatal check-ups.
  3. Claiming Funds: Present your documents and the JSY card at the time of admission or within seven days post-delivery to the hospital authorities or ASHA worker.
