  • Step 1: Accessing the Portal: The user must open a secure web browser and navigate directly to the official PMMVY platform at pmmvy.wcd.gov.in. Alternatively, they can download the official PMMVY mobile application from the Google Play Store.
  • Step 2: Creating a Citizen Account: On the home page, the user must click on the “Citizen Login” tab. The system prompts the user to enter their active mobile number. After entering the number, the user clicks on “Verify” to trigger a secure One-Time Password (OTP) via SMS.
  • Step 3: Account Profile Setup: Once the OTP is entered and validated, the portal opens a basic registration page.   • Step 1: Visiting the Local Center: The pregnant woman or her immediate family member must visit the nearest localized Anganwadi Centre (AWC) or a state-approved government health facility.
  • Step 2: Procurement of Prescribed Forms: The applicant can obtain the physical application forms free of charge from the local Anganwadi Worker (AWW), Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA), or Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM).
  • Step 3: Selecting the Correct Form Type: The physical forms are structured into sequences depending on the milestone being claimed. The applicant must obtain Form 1-A for initial scheme registration and the first installment claim. For asserting the post-delivery milestones, Form 1-B or Form 1-C must be obtained, depending on the stage of delivery or child immunization status.

​The physical or digital proposal received by the AWW, ASHA, or ANM is batched and moved to the designated Sector Supervisor or health supervisor. The supervisor conducts a weekly review of all incoming files to verify that the health markers match the database records.

​Handling Miscarriages and Stillbirths

​If an enrolled pregnant woman experiences an unfortunate miscarriage or a stillbirth, the event is treated compassionately under the program guidelines:

  • ​The beneficiary does not have to return any previous installment funds disbursed while her pregnancy was active.
  • ​For any future pregnancy, the woman is legally treated as a fresh beneficiary. She retains the right to apply for the remaining milestones or full allowances during a subsequent pregnancy cycle.

​Infant Mortality Post-Delivery

​If a child passes away after birth, the mother cannot claim further incentives for that specific child cycle under PMMVY if the milestones were not met. Because the cash incentives are strictly bound to ongoing health checks and immunization completions, no future claims can be honored for a cycle that has ended. However, payments already credited to her account remain untouched.

​Premature or Post-Mature Deliveries

​The revamped PMMVY 2.0 portal integrates a flexible calculation matrix that accounts for variations in gestation periods. The tracking timeline accommodates a window ranging from 140 days to 300 days from the documented Last Menstrual Period (LMP) date to ensure that mothers with premature or overdue deliveries are not disqualified due to automated date errors.

​Grievance Redressal and Citizen Support Matrix

​To handle complaints regarding administrative delays, field worker non-cooperation, or technical glitches on the online portal, the Ministry has deployed a dedicated grievance handling mechanism.

​National Multilingual Helpline

​Beneficiaries can place a call to the official, centralized toll-free helpline number at 14408. The helpdesk operates in multiple regional languages and can provide immediate support regarding pending payments or application rejection reasons.

​Online Grievance Module

​The PMMVY portal features an integrated portal dedicated to logging disputes. Users can log in, click on the “Lodge Grievance” link, state their specific problem, upload supporting evidence, and track the progress of their complaint as it routes directly to the implementing state authorities for a quick resolution.
